From the age of just five, Vinesh Phogat learned wrestling tricks in the soil of his uncle Dronacharya awardee Mahabir Phogat. They are very strong not even on the mat, but in normal life as well. Vinesh Phogat, who attained the status of the world’s number one female wrestler, had a life full of challenges right from the beginning. In childhood, when the shadow of father Rajpal Phogat rose from the head, then mother Premlata was diagnosed with cancer. Overcoming all the challenges, Vinesh has not only changed the attitude of girls towards the wrestling game, but has also set an example to achieve success through struggle. Vinesh Phogat is considered a strong contender for the medal in the selected team for the Tokyo Olympics. Vinesh Phogat is a Commonwealth as well as Asian Games gold medalist female wrestler. He has been honored with the Government Arjuna Award and Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award. Vinesh started the 2016 Rio Olympics in her own style but unfortunately suffered a knee injury during the bout and was ruled out of the match. This shattered the medal hopes of the countrymen along with Vinesh.
