Madhya Pradesh High Court said – private hospitals can return corona vaccine to the government


Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh High Court has allowed private hospitals to return doses of the Kovid-19 vaccine to the government. Along with this, the Chief Medical and Health Officers have been directed to verify the returned stock and carry out the process of refund.

The respective CMHOs of Jabalpur, Gwalior, Ujjain and Narsinghpur can return the dose of vaccine

A division bench of Chief Justice Mohammad Rafiq and Justice Sujoy Paul said that in view of the change in the policy of the Central Government, now vaccination has to be made free. The High Court, in its order on Thursday, had said, “The designated hospitals (applicant private hospitals) may return the vials/doses of vaccine (anti-coronavirus vaccine) to the concerned CMHOs of Jabalpur, Gwalior, Ujjain and Narsinghpur.”

The amount will be returned to the hospital concerned within a month.

The CMHO will duly verify it and the amount paid instead will be refunded to the hospital concerned within a period of one month.” Justice Mitra and senior advocate Naman Nagrath said that as per the application filed by Indian Medical Association and Nursing Home Association. , Jabalpur as well as one private hospital each in Gwalior, Ujjain and Narsinghpur have shown willingness to return the remaining vials/ vaccine doses after the change in vaccination policy.

The court issued the direction while hearing a number of petitions, including suo motu, on issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic and the treatment provided to patients.
