Gurugram. Haryana Home and Urban Local Bodies Minister Anil Vij on Thursday conducted a surprise inspection at the office of Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) in Sector 34 and ordered suspension of two Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs) for irregularities in work during this period. The suspended employees include SDO Rakesh Sharma, Kuldeep Yadav, while the extension of service of executive engineer Dharamveer Malik has been canceled for irregularities and poor paperwork.

The minister has also ordered registration of an FIR against some officials on charges of corruption.

Vij also reprimanded the officials who were not present in the office.

Along with this, he has also ordered to constitute a committee, which will work on the problem of water logging in Gurugram.

As soon as the news of the minister’s presence spread in the municipal office, the complainants started reaching there to meet him and with their grievances already lodged in the office.

Minister Vij told reporters, “During the visit, I have found many irregularities in the MCG office. Even some SDOs present in the office have not been found and Government servant registers and documents are not found correct. So I have suspended three MCG officials and ordered an FIR against them. Some officials have been accused of corruption. I have also ordered the formation of a committee to deal with the problem of waterlogging in Gurugram.

Vij also spoke to some other employees of the civic body, who could not give satisfactory answers to their queries, which angered the minister.

Vij said that any kind of negligence in duty will not be tolerated.

The minister also ordered to maintain the visiting register for field work. The minister also ordered that no employee and officer shall leave the office without written permission.

MCG commissioner Mukesh Kumar Ahuja told reporters, the suspension order given by the minister will be considered at the earliest. We will also take action against those officers who were not present in their office on time. An FIR will also be registered against the guilty officials as per the norms of the government.
