After the Ganges, the tributaries have also come in spate due to the torrential rains in the hilly and plain areas. On Sunday, in Roorkee, where the strong current of Banganga destroyed the embankment near Sherpur Bela, 57 farmers who had gone to do farming were caught in the flood. These included 39 men, 11 women and seven children.

After several hours of effort, the SDRF team rescued everyone and got them out safely. At the same time, due to the collapse of the embankment, the flood water has started spreading on the agricultural land of Khanpur area. About 12 thousand bighas of crops were submerged. Due to the floods, contact has been cut with the tehsil headquarters of Kalsia in Uttarakhand, Ramsahaiwala in Uttar Pradesh, Laksar and Bijnor tehsil headquarters of Himmatpur Bela village as well as the Khanpur block headquarters.
