Dhaka. In view of the increase in the rate of corona infection in some parts of the country, the government of Bangladesh has decided to keep educational institutions closed till June 30. Announcing its decision on Saturday, the country’s education ministry said, “All secondary and higher secondary level educational institutions, including Islamic schools, will remain closed till June 30,” Xinhua news agency reported.
Earlier the period of closure of educational institutions was till June 13.
The notification of the ministry said that the decision has been taken on the advice of a technical committee as the pandemic situation has worsened in some parts of this country bordering India.
The purpose of this decision is to ensure the safety of students, teachers, staff and parents of the institute. It further said that online educational activities of all schools and colleges will continue as usual. (IANS)
