New Delhi. Class 9th and 11th examinations have been canceled in Delhi. On the basis of mid term examinations, these students will be promoted to the next classes. Along with this, the registration for the admission process of classes 6 to 9 in government schools of Delhi will start from June 11. On Thursday, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia held a meeting with the officials of the Directorate of Education, in which decisions were taken regarding the admission and examination process. Decisions were taken in the meeting on the promotion policy of the students of class 9th and 11th and the subjects of admission in government schools for the students of classes 6 to 9.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the students of class 8 from KG were promoted to the next classes under the no-detention policy, but there were uncertainties among the students studying in class 9 and 11 regarding their results and further studies. The annual examination of classes 9th and 11th was postponed to 12th April 2021. After this, the Delhi government has decided to cancel the examinations of these classes keeping in mind the safety of the students.
He shared that the private schools which have conducted the mid term and annual examination can release the result under the promotion policy issued by the Directorate of Education. In schools where mid-term examinations could not be conducted or children who could not appear for all the examinations due to any reason, they would be awarded marks in the remaining subjects according to the 2 subjects in which they have performed best in the mid term examination. This system will be applicable for all government and private schools.
The result of all the students studying in class 9th and 11th in Delhi government schools will be released on the website of Directorate of Education on June 22. Students will also be sent their results through WhatsApp and SMS on their phones. No school will call its students to the school for the result.
Students who have appeared in the mid-term examination of only one subject or have not appeared in the mid-term examination of any subject and have failed to secure the minimum qualifying marks will be given a chance for re-assessment in July. Students will not have to sit for any examination for re-assessment, but they will be re-assessed through projects and school based assignments. All the guidelines related to re-assessment will be issued soon by the Directorate of Education.
Giving information about the admission process to be held in government schools in classes 6 to 9, the Deputy Chief Minister said that like last year, this year also the process of admission in government schools of Delhi will be online. Registration for these classes can be done from June 11 by visiting the website of Directorate of Education, Delhi. This registration process will continue till June 30. After this, from July 5, the admission of applicants will be started on the basis of their eligibility. Those who will not be able to apply in the first phase will also be given a second chance and for them the registration process will be started again from July 23, which will run till August 6.
On the other hand, the Kendriya School Sangathan, which comes under the Union Ministry of Education, issued a notice saying that the first selected and awaited list of students related to school admission will be released on June 23. The second list will be released on June 30 and the third on July 5.
According to KVS, the lottery process for first class enrollment in Kendriya Vidyalaya will be held on June 23. The admission process for other classes will run from June 25 to 30. The last date of admission for all classes except class 11th is August 31. The process of admission in class 11th will be decided after the declaration of class 10th result.
