New Delhi. The Border Security Force (BSF) on Thursday intercepted a Chinese national from near the border in Malda district of West Bengal following suspicious activities. The paramilitary force gave this information. A laptop and a passport have been recovered from him.
The BSF said that the agencies are questioning the Chinese national.
The name and other details of the Chinese national are yet to be ascertained as senior BSF officials have remained silent due to the sensitivity of the matter. He assured that after getting any concrete information during interrogation, it will be informed soon.
A BSF source said that the soldiers of the paramilitary wing stopped the Chinese national after he was identified to be indulging in some suspicious activities going against the security of the country.
A government source said that as soon as the Chinese national was apprehended, the matter was shared with the Ministry of Home Affairs and Defense and dedicated teams of agencies concerned along with the Intelligence Bureau (IB) have arrived to interrogate the suspect.
