New Delhi/Patna. In the last 24 hours, the number of people who died of corona in the country has been recorded at 6,148, which is the highest figure of deaths after this epidemic. This increase is due to the revision of the death toll of Bihar. The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare gave this information by releasing the data. The spurt in the cases of deaths has been recorded at a time when less than 1 lakh cases have come in the country for the third consecutive day.
In Bihar, 3951 dead were not counted earlier, taking the death toll to more than 9,000 and this is the reason for the increase in deaths. If the revised figures for the state are subtracted, the countrywide death toll in the last 24 hours is 2,197.
The Bihar health department on Wednesday evening reported 9,429 deaths due to coronavirus. Till Tuesday, there were a total of 5,458 deaths due to Kovid in Bihar.
The health department gave details of deaths in all 38 districts of the state but did not say when these deaths occurred. Patna has recorded 2,303 deaths, the highest in the state, followed by Muzaffarpur (609) and Begusarai (316).
A senior official of the state health department said that the matter is being investigated. The detailed report is expected by evening.
The Bihar government is facing criticism from opposition leaders for presenting such mismatched data.
Earlier, several other states have also revised their death figures.
