Assam Board Exam 2021: Kovid positivity rate will be less than 2% only then will board exams be held- Chief Minister


Two days ago, the Assam government had announced that the final examination of class 10th and class 12th would be conducted in the state. On Thursday, the Assam government said that the board examinations will be conducted only when the Kovid-19 positivity rate in the state is less than 2 percent.

Exam will be held in mid of July
However, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the two education boards – the Board of Secondary Education Assam (SEBA) and the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) will try to conduct the exams in mid-July.
The board exams of class 10th and class 12th will be held from July 15 to 20 for two to three papers. The Chief Minister also said that male and female students will take the exam on different dates to ensure social distancing.

The question paper will be objective type and straight forward. The Chief Minister also said that the exams will be conducted following the Kovid-19 protocol.

Many states have canceled board exams
Significantly, amid the Kovid-19 pandemic, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and several states have canceled the pending board exams for class 10 and class 12 students. At the same time, the state of Assam is planning to conduct these examinations. On June 8, Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu had said that the government has decided to conduct the board exams after consultation with the stakeholders.
