Jaipur. Chief Secretary Niranjan Arya said that proper action plan should be prepared by the departments to improve the ranking of SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).
Arya was presiding over the review meeting of the state’s progress in various indicators of SDGs at the Government Secretariat on Thursday. He directed the planning department to write a letter to the secretary of each department, in which the information related to their department is known and the department should make necessary plans to improve it.
Arya said that the ranking of the state is good in indicators like health, peace, sustainable cities, while the ranking is very low in various indicators including poverty, hunger, quality of education, gender inequality, cleanliness and efforts should be made to bring this ranking up. . He directed each department to improve the indicators related to its department.
He said that it is necessary to seriously consider the low ranking of the state. To improve the ranking of the state, it is important for the concerned department not only to focus on its own plan, but also collectively, efforts need to be made. He said that the departments will now have to focus on treatment rather than symptoms to improve the state’s ranking in SDGs.
In the meeting, Planning Secretary Naveen Jain made a presentation and explained in detail the indicators of the state’s ranking in SDGs. Additional Chief Secretary PHED Sundhashu Pant, Principal Secretary Home Abhay Kumar, Principal Secretary Finance Akhil Arora, Principal Secretary Education Aparna Arora, Principal Secretary Agriculture Bhaskar A. Senior officials of various departments including Sawant were present.
