Mahoba. In Mahoba area, a Dalit youth had sought police protection to ride a horse to his bride’s house. His new trouble has started regarding the age of the bride as the bride is a minor. Alkharam Ahirwar, a native of Madhavganj in Mahobakanth area of ​​Mahoba district, was all set to get married on June 18. They had approached the local police seeking protection for riding a horse during the pre-wedding rituals on their wedding day.

Messages circulating on social media claimed that the bride-to-be is 17 years and one month old as per her Aadhar card.

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mahoba R.K. Gautam said, “We have started investigation after viral messages surfaced on social media that the girl with whom Ahirwar is to be married, investigation is going on to see if she is a minor.”

Circle Officer Kulpahar has been directed to conduct an inquiry in this regard and submit the report soon.

“If the girl is found to be a minor, Ahirwar’s application for protection will be rejected,” he said.

Ahirwar told reporters that he was not aware of the exact age of his future bride. “I came to know about the matter through viral messages on social media. I am a law abiding citizen and will fully cooperate with the police to check his age,” he said.
